Senior Legal Counsel

ABOUT YOUR NEW JOB:

The Senior Legal Counsel (in-house) provides a broad range of legal and compliance support to various functions of the Company and its Ukrainian operations, as part of the Country Legal Team reporting to the Country Legal Director. In this role, you will partner closely with business teams, advising on commercial, antitrust, and consumer law matters, as well as drafting and negotiating key commercial agreements, including distribution and marketing contracts. You will ensure that all business initiatives comply with Ukrainian legislation and internal Company standards, delivering advice that is strategic, proactive, practical, and aligned with the highest legal, ethical, and professional standards.

YOU CAN BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE IF:

• Partnering with internal clients (Sales, Marketing, Premium Spirits Departments) by considering immediate legal and compliance issues in a broad business context and identifying business purposes and objectives; proactively applies legal and compliance expertise to address the specific business activity; developing alternative legal solutions in order to enable the achievement of successful business outcomes;
• Drafting and participating in negotiations of a wide range of commercial contracts, including distribution and marketing agreements;
• Collaborating effectively with members of the Country Legal Team and Group Legal Team to provide timely, business-oriented advice to internal commercial clients on legal and compliance issues;
• Expert understanding of Ukrainian laws, regulations and policies in specialized legal areas, as well as in Company policies and procedures, strong knowledge of laws, regulations and policies in commercial, antitrust, consumers legal areas, among others.

OUR NEW TEAM MEMBER NEEDS TO:

• Higher Law degree;
• At least 5 years of professional experience as a lawyer in a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel;
• Bar exam successfully passed - license to practice law in front of Ukrainian Courts – will be an advantage;
• Solid background \ knowledge at least in the following legal areas: Competition Law, Contract & Commercial Law, Corporate Law;
• Experience in the FMCG sector is a plus;
• Fluent English is a must;
• Positive communication style, excellent and effective communication skills, with ability to handle complex issues;
• Excellent organizational skills in order to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
• Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced work environment, taking initiative and autonomy, demonstrating ability to learn quickly.

The main office of the company is located in Velyka Dymerka. Corporate buses are provided from metro stations Chernihivska and Lybidska, and also, from the city of Brovary and the settlements of Velyka Dymerka, Bohdanivka, Kalyta.
