About the job 

The ICRC Logistics Department recruits a Forklift Operator to be based in its Kharkiv warehouse and office. In close cooperation with the team members and line managers, the Forklift operator will be responsible for loading, unloading, moving and stacking products and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment, under the responsibility of the Storekeeper and in accordance with safety instructions.  

Start date: 1st of June 

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks using a forklift, pallet trucks
• Participate in warehouse inventory counts
• Arrange goods in the warehouse according to instructions
• Pick & Pack the goods for further transportation
• Move goods within warehouse facility & open space storage
• Assist in carrying, strapping, weighing, labelling and packing goods to be shipped out
• Assist in loading consignments ready for dispatch
• Update bin cards and stock cards when supervising an inventory transaction
• Keep the facility's equipment and materials neat, clean and orderly
• Inspect and performs minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment and reports any malfunctions
• Assist his superior in his work
• May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary

About you

To be successful as a Forklift operator in the Logistics Department, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:   

• Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
• Basic knowledge or spoken English an asset
• Ability to count, read and write
• Forklift license 
• Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
• Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
• Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
• Confidence in managing projects and staff
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
