PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The purpose of this assignment is to ensure safety and security operations, policies, and procedures within the projects activities which will be roll out for a period of 15 months (April 2024-June 2025)

The Safety and Security Manager is responsible for overseeing daily security management of all acted premises and project sites, ensuring a permanent monitoring and assessment of the security situation in country, as well as reviewing and implementing Acted security management guidelines and protocols. He will also advise the Project Manager and Senior Management Team on all issues of safety and security and provide appropriate security training and mentoring.

DUTIES

• Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures
• Develop scenario planning for security and safety risk management.
• Provide proactive safety security management advice, guidance and support.
• Provide day-to-day Safety and Security Management, and assurance, including: situation monitoring, information sharing and reporting, implementing mitigation measures, reporting, and evaluation.
• Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses
• Recruit, train and supervise security officers and guards
• Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs
• Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events
• Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
• Review reports on incidents and breaches
• Investigate and resolve issues
• Create reports for management on security status
• Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology)

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

• Proven experience as security manager or similar position
• Experience using relevant technology and equipment
• Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
• Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Committed and reliable
• Fluent in English
