1. Background
AVSI Foundation is an international humanitarian organization committed to fostering sustainable development and resilience in vulnerable communities. The Field Officer will play a key role in implementing field activities, ensuring effective coordination with local partners and stakeholders, and contributing to the overall success of AVSI’s projects in the field.
2. Objectives
The Field Officer will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of field activities while ensuring compliance with AVSI’s operational standards and donor requirements. This role involves close collaboration with local partners, beneficiaries, and AVSI teams to deliver impactful and sustainable outcomes.
3. Responsibilities
Field Activity Implementation:
- Organize, coordinate, and monitor field activities to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, provide support, and ensure compliance with AVSI policies and donor requirements.
- Support the collection and analysis of data related to project activities, including beneficiary feedback.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations to facilitate project implementation.
- Organize and participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions with stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare detailed activity reports, including challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date records of field activities, including attendance sheets, monitoring checklists, and expense reports.
4. Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in fieldwork, community engagement, or project implementation.
- Familiarity with local contexts and stakeholders in Ukraine is an asset.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data collection tools.
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English (both written and spoken).

5. Reporting Line
The Field Officer will report directly to the Project Manager and provide regular updates on field activities and deliverables.
6. Conditions
- Location: Based in Poltava, with frequent travel to project sites.
- Working Hours: 40 hours per week (full-time).
- Contract Duration: Six months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.
