About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Fire Protection Specialist to join our MEP department. The role involves designing, modeling, and coordinating fire protection systems within BIM environments, ensuring compliance with international standards and delivering high-quality project outputs. The successful candidate will work closely with other disciplines to achieve fully coordinated designs.

Responsibilities

• Design and BIM modeling of fire protection systems (including wet and dry pipe systems).

• Coordinate sprinkler layouts in Revit with architectural, structural, and MEP references.

• Apply appropriate sprinkler types and connections according to project requirements.

• Perform hydraulic and pressure loss calculations to validate system performance.

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., BS EN 12845) and project specifications.

• Deliver clash-free coordinated models and required documentation (RVT, NWD, calculation reports).

• Collaborate with project teams and communicate effectively with clients when required.

Requirements

Technical Expertise

• Proven experience in the design and BIM modeling of sprinkler fire protection systems.

• Strong skills in Revit for FP modeling and coordination.

• Familiarity with Navisworks for clash detection and model review.

• Ability to perform system calculations using Excel or similar tools.

• Knowledge of different connection and pipework systems (e.g., flexible, rigid, grooved, screwed, welded).

• Understanding of sprinkler system design principles (coverage, hazard classifications, slope requirements, etc.).

Soft Skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to project standards.

• Problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt to design changes.

• Good teamwork and coordination skills within multidisciplinary environments.

Language Requirement

• Spoken English level B1 or higher – able to participate in meetings and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.

Desirable

• Experience with project management platforms such as Procore, KAHUA, Aconex.

• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM360).

• Previous experience in UK or European projects following BS standards.
