
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and highly detail-oriented Senior Communications Officer to join the Rehab4U project team. This role will lead the development and implementation of integrated project communications, including the design and rollout of large-scale communication campaigns, communications support for events and public-facing activities, and the development of digital, print, audio, and video materials.
The Senior Communications Officer will be responsible for translating complex programmatic work into clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate communication products that highlight the project’s progress, results, and impact. The role includes content planning and creation for social media, coordination of multimedia and promotional products, support for visibility around key project milestones and events, and close collaboration with technical teams, leadership, partners, designers, photographers/videographers, translators, and other vendors or consultants.
The Officer will ensure that all communications are aligned with Rehab4U’s communications strategy, editorial standards, and donor branding and marking requirements, while helping strengthen the project’s public visibility, stakeholder engagement, and strategic outreach.
Full-time, hybrid-based position in Kyiv( 3 times a week at the office)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of integrated communications activities aligned with Rehab4U’s objectives, priorities, and annual work planning.
- Develop strategic messaging, key talking points, thematic narratives, and audience-specific content for external communications.
- Design, plan, and support the rollout of large-scale communication campaigns, including campaign messaging, content packages, timelines, coordination, and visibility products.
- Lead or coordinate the communications support for project events, public discussions, workshops, forums, site visits, and other public-facing activities.
- Oversee the preparation of communication materials related to events, including announcements, agendas, speaker notes, visibility materials, social media coverage, photo/video briefs, post-event content, and follow-up communication products.
- Manage the project’s social media presence, including content planning, copywriting, scheduling, publishing, and promotion of project activities, milestones, and achievements across relevant platforms, including Facebook and X/Twitter.
- Draft, edit, and finalize a wide range of communication products, including social media posts, success stories, human-interest stories, video scripts, interview briefs, key messages, newsletters, talking points, web content, press materials, and short updates.
- Coordinate the development of multimedia and promotional materials, including videos, аудіо products, printed materials, presentations, infographics, event branding materials, and other visibility assets.
- Work closely with designers and other creative service providers to ensure high-quality visual execution consistent with project messaging and branding standards.
- Liaise with technical and program teams to gather, verify, synthesize, and package information for communication products that accurately reflect project activities, achievements, lessons learned, and impact.
- Identify and proactively pursue communication opportunities linked to field visits, project milestones, stakeholder engagement, national and regional events, and beneficiary or partner stories.
- Coordinate with translators and reviewers to ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of all communication materials in English and Ukrainian.
- Ensure all products and activities comply with donor visibility, branding, and marking requirements, as well as internal communication and approval processes.
- Support communication planning and editorial calendaring to ensure timely, consistent, and strategic visibility of project activities.
- Coordinate external consultants, vendors, and service providers involved in content production, design, photography, video production, printing, or related communication work, as needed.
- Monitor communication outputs and audience engagement trends and contribute to reporting on communications performance, visibility efforts, and content effectiveness.
- Advise project staff on communication approaches, audience positioning, visibility opportunities, and the communication framing of technical activities.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in communications, public relations, media relations, digital communications, content development, or related fields.
- Proven experience leading or coordinating communication activities for complex projects, preferably in international development, public health, rehabilitation, social policy, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communication campaigns and supporting public-facing events and visibility activities.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English and Ukrainian, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences, platforms, and formats.
- Strong experience producing and/or managing a broad range of communication products, including digital content, printed materials, presentations, scripts, talking points, and social media content.
- Practical experience coordinating with designers, photographers, videographers, translators, consultants, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of strategic communications, message development, editorial planning, and audience engagement.
- Experience working in donor-funded projects and familiarity with donor branding, marking, visibility, and approval requirements will be a strong advantage.
- Good knowledge of Ukraine’s rehabilitation system and understanding of the roles of key stakeholders in the sector.
- Established professional relationships with rehabilitation stakeholders in Ukraine will be considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with design and content tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar platforms will be an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic project environment.
- Full professional proficiency in English and Ukrainian, both written and spoken.
